Man City team news: Predicted XI vs Fulham – THREE changes as injury crisis eases

Manchester City are two points behind Liverpool with a game in hand but this could be a big weekend in the title race with Liverpool up against Tottenham on Sunday.

City know victory in west London will send them back to the top and they can watch on as Liverpool try and match them against Spurs.

City could have Kevin De Bruyne, Vincent Kompany, Benjamin Mendy, John Stones, Nicolas Otamendi and Fernandinho all back but will be wary to bring them all straight in – particularly with eight games in April on the horizon.

City play again on Wednesday against Cardiff before playing Brighton in the FA Cup semi-final and then take on Tottenham in the Champions League, Crystal Palace, Tottenham in the second leg, Tottenham in the league, Manchester United and then Burnley away.

Pep Guardiola’s squad will be tested to the fullest and he may choose to bring some of his returning stars in gently.

Fulham meanwhile have Alfie Mawson and Andre Schurrle to return but Saturday could be too early.

“Manchester City are a fantastic team with a manager who will go down as one of the greatest. But we’re looking forward to it,” Scott Parker said.

“For all the big positives that have come from the last few matches, the points haven’t been there, but it’s been fine margins in all of the games.”

City have scored 10 goals without conceding in their last three games against Fulham and are big favourites again this weekend with Fulham on a seven-game losing run and almost consigned to relegation.

City will stick with Ederson in goal and could make one change from the back four against Schalke with Oleksandr Zinchenko coming in for Fabian Delph to play with Kyle Walker, Nicolas Otamendi and Aymeric Laporte.

Fernandinho is unlikely to be risked unless he’s fully fit and could sit another game out with Ilkay Gundogan playing instead.

The two Silvas – Bernardo and David – could continue along side him. Raheem Sterling is likely to come in for Riyad Mahrez and Leroy Sane on the left and then Sergio Aguero up top in place of Gabriel Jesus.

Man City predicted team: Ederson, Walker, Otamendi, Laporte, Zinchenko; Gundogan, Bernardo, David Silva; Sterling, Sane, Aguero.
