The Borussia Dortmund winger is one of the hottest properties in European football and has been linked with a move to Manchester United.
Sancho left City for Dortmund back in 2017 and has impressed in the Bundesliga.
The 18-year-old has netted eight goals and provided 15 assists in the German top flight this season.
And that led to Sterling posting a cheeky tweet insinuating City have a buy-back clause for Sancho.
He tweeted: “So u actually have a buy back clause? #AgentRaz on duty @Sanchooo10.”
Sterling has since deleted the tweet regarding his international team-mate.
Sancho is in the England squad to take on the Czech Republic and Montenegro in Euro 2020 qualifiers.
And if he impresses, rumours of him making a switch to United will only intensify.
Sterling has previously spoken to about struggling to keep up with Sancho in training.
“The first day I’d seen him training with us, I was really happy to see such a talent,” he explained.
“I always knew he’d become the player he has, for sure. From minute one.
“I was playing right-back one day in pre-season training and he spun me and I nearly did my back in.”
United will look to strengthen this summer with a right winger one of their priorities.
Sancho has been linked wth Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reportedly a fan.
And the winger has said watching the likes of Marcus Rashford and Kylian Mbappe keep him motivated.
“That always pushes me when I see Mbappe and Marcus Rashford doing well because I know they are probably looking at me and seeing what I’m doing and it’s probably pushing them,” he said.
“It’s good to see other young players doing well.”
