The latest arrest comes a few weeks after Mac’s alleged dealer, Cameron James Pettit, was arrested on suspicion of supplying the deadly drugs that contributed to his death.

In the charging docs, prosecutors said Pettit worked with two women who delivered the illegal drugs to Mac twice in the days before his death.

The Self Care singer died aged 26 in his San Fernando Valley home in September last year.

It was later determined he passed after ingesting counterfeit oxycodone pills that were laced with fentanyl, which directed contributed to his death.

Mac – born Malcolm James McCormack – has been honoured in the year since his death at numerous events, vigils, and ceremonies. Ariana Grande, who dated the singer for two years, led a memorial at Coachella this year for both Mac and Nipsey Hussle, who was shot and killed in LA this year.

At a memorial marking one year since Mac’s death his dad said he found some ‘comfort’ in the arrest of Pettit.

So they finally caught the motherf***er that sold him the drugs that killed him. ‘And we find some comfort in that. And many of us were young, including me, experimented with drugs. But it’s a different f***ing world out there, and all it takes is a stone—a little tiny stone of fentanyl and cocaine—and you’re dead.

He added: ‘Drugs are being laced with fentanyl—all kinds of drugs. And the one thing I would say to you is: Don’t take the risk. It’s just not worth it.’

At the event, Mark also paid tribute to his son, urging his fans to find ‘the joy in life.’

Struggling to hold back tears, he said: ‘He was always loving and kind to others.’
