Lucy Mecklenburgh and Ryan Thomas are ENGAGED!

Lucy Mecklenburgh and Ryan Thomas are engaged after two years of dating. 

The former TOWIE star, 27, took to her Instagram platform on Saturday morning with a smitten snap as she leaned in to kiss her other half, 35, while flashing her new sparkler. 

‘I said YES❤️,’ Lucy captioned the smitten snap alongside a ring emoji as she informed her fans of their relationship’s status update while continuing her romantic Amalfi getaway with her new fiance.

Ryan, who shares daughter Scarlett, 10, with ex Tina O’Brien, had clearly pulled out all the stops for the proposal as he wined and dined the stunner with a romantic al fresco dinner by the sea. 

The twinkling lights of the city served as the perfect backdrop for the former Corrie star to get down one one knee. 

Lucy was certainly dressed for the occasion as she slipped her slender figure into a black lace dress, complete with a matching monochrome headband.  

The genetically gifted couple met on Celebrity Island With Bear Grylls in early 2017 and confirmed their romance in July after months of speculation.

Ryan’s brother Scott was quick to congratulate them as he took to his Instagram Stories with a snap of the proposal alongside the caption: ‘Welcome to the Thomas family @lucymeck.’

He cheekily added: ‘God help you. Love you both @ryanthomas8.’

The fitness guru recently shared that she was keen to take the next step in her relationship with Ryan by becoming engaged. 

In an interview with OK! magazine in late 2018, Ryan said: ‘She’s always dropping hints about what she wants to happen. I think Lucy wants me to propose next year!’

TV personality Lucy added: ‘You’d better get saving because I want a really heavy left hand!’

‘I wouldn’t waste my time with someone if I didn’t believe we were on the same page about children and getting married. I know we both want the same things in the future.’

And despite their new engagement news, it appears that the pair were already planning their wedding months before.

According to new!, Lucy has been looking at inspiration and has liked lots of wedding themed snaps on Instagram, including dresses, flower arrangements and table layout ideas.

The couple recently brushed off split rumours after Lucy was pictured looking very cosy with a man in a Dubai nightclub, believed to be her friend and business associate Adam Rossiter. 

At the time, Ryan was said to be ‘in pieces’ over the pictures but the couple quickly moved on after Lucy explained it was her pal.

Ryan also raises daughter Scarlett with his ex-girlfriend and former Coronation Street co-star Tina O’Brien, 35, who he was in a relationship with for six years.
