Eve’s (played by Inbar Lavi) arrival is supposedly meant to shake up Lucifer’s (Tom Ellis) world in season four as she provides a new romantic interest for him.
However, could fans be shocked as a whole new romantic interest emerges for Eve?
Fans on Twitter have been speculating about a romance between Eve and Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt) after a huge season four trailer tease released by Netflix.
The pair were seen in intimate scenes in the trailer and fans think this could lead to a shock relationship twist.
One fan posted a photo from the trailer of the two and commented: “GUYS they- #Mazeve waited long enough for Maze to get some.”
Then, Maze star Lesley-Ann quoted the tweet and teased fans with: “I smell a ship.”
This sent fans into meltdown as they sensed a huge twist just days before the season begins.
One fan replied: “Wait is Maze finally getting a girlfriend?!”
Another added: “It’s what you and we deserve.”
One fan sees this storyline as potentially saving Lucifer and Chloe Decker’s (Lauren German) relationship: “Yes let #mazieve be a thing so #deckerstar can blossom.”
Lesley-Ann has previously been very open about Maze’s new romantic interests in season four and admitted it will take her life in a new direction.
At ClexaCon she said: “If you’re gonna have her be with a girl, make it real. Don’t have it be from like a straight man’s perspective, which is often very sexualised and pornographic. Instead, show me what love is. Show me what disappointment is. Show me the feelings that any normal couple experiences.”
It is quite clear that Maze will have a romantic interest with a girl in season four and Eve could be that girl.
Eve’s relationship with Lucifer has been teased for a long time after the Netflix promo showed her alongside Chloe and Lucifer.
The Eve star teases fans by referring to Lucifer as: “He’s so sexy.”
Lucifer then teases a three-way relationship between himself and the two girls.
The season four trailer also shows a lot of intimate scenes between Eve and Lucifer and an image released by Entertainment Weekly shows the pair “Netflix and chilling.”
However, fans believe Eve is hiding something from Lucifer and may be out for revenge more than love.
Lucifer did kill her son in season three, so there is the potential for her to play on Lucifer’s vanity to enact revenge.
This would pave the way for a relationship between Eve and Maze, which would delight fans and also push Lucifer closer to Chloe.
Maze star Lesley-Ann has previously teased romance will be key for Maze in season four and told BriefTake: “In season one, the focus for Mazikeen was to return back home, right? And in season two, it’s ‘I can’t go home now, so how do I make her feel like home’.
“And then in season three, it was all about relationships, and in season four, it’s about a relationship. It’s about finding love, and so it’s very human – my approach to her.”
