Love Island's Iain Stirling's heartbreaking words for 'much-loved' Caroline Flack


Love Island narrator Iain Stirling paid tribute to Caroline Flack in Monday’s episode after the show was off air for two nights.

Iain wrote a lengthy tribute to Caroline which he read out at the start of the show.

“We are all absolutely devastated by the tragic news that Caroline, a much-loved member of our Love Island family, has passed away.

“Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this dreadful time.

“Caroline and me were together from the start of Love Island, and her passion, warmth, and infectious enthusiasm were a crucial part of what made the show connect with millions of viewers.

“Like many of you, right now we’re all just trying to come to terms with what has happened.

“My only hope is that we are try and be kinder, always show love, and listen to one another.

“Caroline, I want to thank you for all the times we had making this show.

“You were a true friend to me.”

His voice cracking with emotion, he concluded: “I’m gonna miss you, Caz.”

Caroline, 40, was discovered at her east London home on Saturday morning with her family confirming that she had taken her own life.

A family spokesperson said: “We can confirm that our Caroline passed away today on the 15th February.

“We would ask that the press respect the privacy of the family at this difficult time.”

Caroline’s sudden death has left her family, friends and fans reeling and many shared their tributes and memories on social media.


An ITV spokeswoman said: “Everybody at Love Island and ITV is shocked and saddened by this desperately sad news.

“Caroline was a much loved member of the Love Island team and our sincere thoughts and condolences are with her family and friends.”

Caroline had recently returned to the UK after spending time in Los Angeles in the aftermath of her arrest for allegedly assaulting her boyfriend.
