Love Island's Dr Alex calls for free parking for all NHS staff at hospitals

Love Island‘s Dr Alex George has called for free parking for NHS staff at hospitals as they continue to work around the clock to tackle the coronavirus pandemic.

The 30-year-old is one of thousands of NHS workers who has been working hard to care for patients but are still faces car parking charges.

The A&E doctor appeared on Love Island back in 2017 but despite his rising fame, kept his day job at a hospital in London.

And many backed his suggestion and the tweet itself has had over 118k likes.

One said: “Shouldn’t be controversial. It’s criminal that NHS staff have to pay for car parking. Thank you for all you do.”

Another added: “I think every time is a good time for hospital car parks to be free for staff, not just now.”

While another wrote: “What’s controversial is that they were ever charged in the first place. It should always be free for someone to park at their place of work.”

And he even had a response from Just Park, who said: “Hi Alex, We want to help as much as we can. We’ve set up this appeal to bring driveways and car parks near hospitals onto our service to provide free parking. Help us help the NHS. Share your space or share this appeal.”
