Love Island’s Amber Gill overwhelmed with emotion as she reunites with pet dog Obi at airport

Love Island winner Amber Gill broke down in tears after reuniting with her beloved dog Obi following her return to the UK.

The Love Island finalists landed at Stansted Airport earlier today after spending the summer searching for love in a luxury Majorcan villa for the ITV2 dating show.

Amber walked off the flight with her new boyfriend and fellow winner Greg O’Shea, who appeared on the show for just 12 days.

The couple were joined by finalists Ovie Soko, India Reynolds, Tommy Fury, Molly-Mae Hague, Maura Higgins and Curtis Pritchard as they arrived at Stansted following the show’s final on Monday night.

The reality stars were met by a crowd of Love Island fans at the airport, but Amber was more overwhelmed when she saw her beloved pet outside.

The 21-year-shared a video of Obi’s wagging tail on her Instagram Story, captioning it with the words “reunited with Obi” and “my heart”.

During the flight, Greg shared a tongue in cheek photo of Amber grinning as she sat in the plane’s cockpit, captioning it: “Learner permit… no bother.”

Amber and Greg topped the public vote during Monday’s final, despite having only been “coupled up” for less than two weeks, beating longest-standing couple Tommy and Molly-Mae.

The closing episode of the dating show was watched by 3.63 million with a peak of 4.1 million, making it the most-watched final in the programme’s history.

ITV confirmed earlier this month that Love Island is set to return early in 2020 for a winter series, which will be filmed in Cape Town, South Africa.

A second competition will then follow in the show’s traditional summer slot.
