Love Island winner Amber Gill ‘signs up for Dancing On Ice 2020’

Love Island winner Amber Gill could be set to swap the villa for the ice rink as she has reportedly signed up for Dancing On Ice

The 22-year-old, who won the fifth series last month with partner Greg O’Shea, is rumoured to be taking part in the next series of ITV’s ice-skating show.

A source told The Sun: “The Dancing On Ice casting team are delighted with the decision to snap up Amber.

“Love Island contestants always do really well on the series as they are still fresh in everyone’s minds.”

The insider added that her “gutsy personality” would make excellent viewing.

If true, she will be following in the footsteps of former Islanders Kem Cetinay and Wes Nelson, who appeared on the programme in 2018 and 2019 respectively.

Nelson reached the final of this year’s competition, eventually losing to former Strictly Come Dancing professional James Jordan.

A spokesperson for ITV told Standard Online: “It is too early to confirm any of the participants for the 2020 series of Dancing On Ice”.

Standard Online has contacted representatives for Gill for further comment.

This comes after both Gill and O’Shea confirmed that they are not officially boyfriend and girlfriend yet – despite winning the show as a couple.

The pair walked away from the ITV2 show with £50,000 between them after a whirlwind romance on the dating show.

Following their win last Monday, fans have wondered if they have taken their relationship to the next level.

Gill told ITV’s Loose Women that they are “exclusively dating but we’re not official yet”, adding that O’Shea “hasn’t asked us yet”.

Joining her on the TV show, O’Shea said: “We only met each other for the first time on July 15.”

The Irish rugby player added: “We’re definitely going in the right direction. I can definitely see us getting there.

“She needs to meet my friends and family. She hasn’t met any of my friends yet.”

Newcastle-based beauty therapist Gill, who was one of the original contestants in this year’s Love Island, spent the first half of her time in the villa with Michael Griffiths, who later left her for newcomer Joanna Chimonides.

O’Shea went into the programme two weeks before the series ended and quickly struck up a relationship with Gill.

ITV confirmed earlier this month that Love Island will return early in 2020 for a winter series, with another season following in the traditional summer slot, in response to a “record breaking year.”

The additional series will be filmed in a brand new villa in Cape Town, South Africa.
