Love Island makes awkward app blunder by mixing up twins Jess and Eve Gale

Well, that’s awkward (Picture: ITV)

Former Love Island contestant Eve Gale has called out bosses for mixing her and her twin sister Jess up on the show’s app.

Despite Eve becoming the first contestant to leave the show last week, it seems her influence lives on as she spotted that a picture of her was being used on the Love Island app for her sister, Jess, who is still in the villa.

Taking to Instagram stories, in now-deleted posts, Eve pointed out that bosses made a pretty awkward gaffe by choosing a picture of the wrong twin.

‘You’ve made a mistake,’ she wrote. ‘That photo is of me, not Jess.’

It seemed to be all water under the bridge of course, as Eve then went on to encourage fans to still vote for Jess anyway, even if she wasn’t in the picture.

She added: ‘But everyone vote for my sister Jess even though that’s my picture lol.’

Lol indeed, hun.

In other twin-related news, a set of male twins featured in the Australian version of Love Island talked exclusively to Metro.co.uk and told us they ‘really felt’ for the girls after their separation.

Josh and Luke Packham gave us the low down on what it’s really like to be a twin in the villa. Josh even went on to win his series, so they’re people in the know.

‘Eve leaving so early, I really feel for her in that situation as a twin,’ Luke said.

‘It’s never nice, she’s going to be spending time on the internet reading things about her sister. Even little things like Jess’ Instagram, Jess’ following will probably rise a bit quicker than Eve’s and as twins there’s always competition.’

‘Especially when you’re identical,’ Luke pointed out. ‘It definitely gets in the way.’

We can tell babes, even their pictures are getting mixed up!

Love Island continues tomorrow at 9pm on ITV2
