Louise Redknapp, 44, and Jamie Redknapp, 46, are celebrating together this evening in honour of their son Charley Redknapp’s 15th birthday. The former Strictly Come Dancing contestant and the football pundit got divorced in 2017, but are working together as co-parents to their two children, Charley and Beau. Louise and Jamie both posted similar video clips on their Instagram stories, showing Charley’s party in full swing. In view of her 638,000 followers, the singer filmed the celebration which took place outdoors.
The clip firstly showed her son and his pals chatting at a table, until the camera panned around to where food was being prepared on a barbecue.
The mum-of-two wrote across the video: “My birthday boy. How big? @charley_redknapp.”
Jamie opted to feature a celebratory bottle of wine in his Instagram video, which he shared with his 1.1 million followers.
He captioned the Boomerang clip in reference to the alcoholic beverage: “Well it is Charley’s birthday!!”
Charley’s parents also took the opportunity to pay tribute to their eldest son on the social media platform with a series of adorable family photos.
Louise shared a gallery of snaps showing Charley from a very young age, to more recent images of him all grown up.
She added the caption: “There’s nothing more special to me in the world than my boys.
“Happy Birthday @charley_redknapp I love you x #15Today.”
Jamie also posted a selection of throwback images featuring Charley, as he gushed: “Happy 15th birthday @charley_redknapp.
“I’m so proud of you keep working hard and believing in yourself and you can achieve anything you want in life. Love you mate. Dad.”
Elsewhere, Louise Redknapp revealed her new music has helped her to overcome heartbreak following her split from Jamie Redknapp after a 19-year marriage.
Speaking about her work to the Daily Mail, she said: “Music is the first thing I go to when I feel happy and when I feel sad.
“And it got me through a time that was really a tough time in my life.”
She added: “If I can bounce around the studio it really lifts my spirits.
“And I can pour my heart out. Because I would never do a tell-all. Music is very personal.”
Fans speculated Louise’s recent single Small Talk was based on the breakdown of her relationship with Jamie.
The emotional track’s lyrics included: “We used to be in love, we used to be inseparable. Now it’s a little awkward, it’s like we’ve never met before.”
