Lorraine Kelly opened up about her fears for her ‘high risk’ mum and dad amid the coronavirus outbreak.

Appearing on Good Morning Britain, the presenter admitted
her main concern was for her elderly parents.

‘You know I’m quite stoic,’ the 60-year-old began. ‘It takes a lot to get me nonplussed, but I’ve had a few wibbles and do you know what I’m really worried about?

‘My mum and dad, because I don’t know is it better for me
not to go and see them? Because my dad is really high risk, particularly my
dad.’

GMB host Susanna Reid interrupted her to get the expertise
of  Dr Hilary Jones, who was on the show
to discuss the virus.

He said: ‘I’m visiting my mum, she’s 93, she’s had respiratory problems in the past. So will my brothers.

‘But if we’ve got symptoms we won’t. We’ve got the
telephone, we’ve got the Internet. There are messages you can have with your
elderly.

‘And of course if we’re worried about them we’ll get
deliveries if necessary. Life has to go on.’

The doctor previously appeared on Lorraine’s talk show (5 March) to further discuss the happenings, effects, and concerns of Covid-19.

He branded those stockpiling as ‘selfish’ while putting viewers’ minds at ease after more and more new patients were diagnosed with the illness.

He ranted: ‘I don’t know what it is about toilet paper, but
why is this the unique thing people are stockpiling? There are newspapers you
could use if push comes to shove.’

Lorraine laughed that it wouldn’t come to that, as the 66-year-old added: ‘People need to be responsible and less selfish and think about looking after the entire world and society.

‘If we stockpile, we remove that from other people, and once
you have used that over the two weeks what do you do then? You can’t go back to
the supermarket because everyone else has done it.’
