Liz Hurley's raciest carpet snaps with Hugh Grant 25 years after arrest and eventual split

Glamorous actress and model famously dated British film heartthrob between 1987 and 2000. However, after 13 years as one of the world’s biggest celebrity power couples, they finally called it quits in 2000.

Liz, 58, and Hugh, 63, met while working together on the Spanish film Remando Al Viento, which was written and directed by Gonzalo Suárez. The pair hit the headlines when they announced they were dating, with their many red-carpet appearances together always being sure to cause a stir.

However, things took a turn for the worse in 1995, when Hugh was caught having an affair with sex worker Divine Brown. He was arrested for their “lewd conduct” in a public place and was taken to a police station in Los Angeles. Despite Hugh being unfaithful to her, Liz forgave the Four Weddings and a Funeral actor, and they carried on dating before finally splitting up in 2000.

The pair have both commented on the reason for their breakup in previous years, with Hugh once saying in an interview with Andy Cohen: “The sex bit probably fizzled out, but now she’s my absolute best friend—number one person I call in a crisis.” Meanwhile, Liz confirmed during a chat with the talk show host that she is still great friends with Hugh, but then admitted: “He used to really annoy me, actually. I mean, I love him, but, um, he’s very annoying.”

She went on to add: “My friends used to call him Grumpelstiltskin. He is very grumpy.” As Liz appears in brand new film Strictly Confidential, which is directed by her 21-year-old son , Express.co.uk looks back on some of the iconic couple’s best red carpet looks over the years.
