Liverpool have enquired about signing James Maddison this summer, according to reports.

The Reds join Manchester United in the race to land Maddison, who is valued at around £60million by his club, Leicester City.

Liverpool will rival Tottenham, Manchester City and United for Maddison’s signature, but Leicester are only willing to sell if their asking price is met.

Brendan Rodgers does not want to lose Maddison and the Foxes are not under pressure to offload Maddison – who is under contract at the King Power Stadium until 2023.

At 22, Maddison is one of the most exciting English talents in the Premier League and made 38 appearances for Leicester in all competitions last season.

Maddison scored seven times and provided seven assists in those appearances having joined Leicester from Norwich a year ago.
