Kai Havertz is reportedly excited about the prospect of a move to Manchester United .
Havertz, 20, has emerged as a top target for a host of European clubs due to his performances for Bayer Leverkusen.
Liverpool and Manchester United are among those interested in the German international, with reports stating they have held talks with Havertz’s agent.
Despite United not being in the Champions League, and on course to miss out again, the Red Devils remain an attractive propostition.
Bild refers to United as a ‘fallen giant’ but insists Havertz remains ‘excited by the project’ of a move to Old Trafford.
Any battle for the youngsters is likely to wait until the summer with a host of clubs in the race for his signature.
He has enjoyed a decent start to the season after scoring 17 times in the Bundesliga last term.
And he is hoping to continue that goalscoring form for the remainder of the campaign.
“Last season was like a benchmark for me, so it’s been difficult to keep pace with this. This was my aim, and I started this season well with two goals in the first two games,” he said.
“It’s normal for a young player like me to then experience a small dip, but these are phases that shape you as a player and as a person. You learn the most in these situations, and I think it was the first time in my career that praise wasn’t constantly being heaped on me.
“The things being written about me weren’t all positive, but things like that don’t hold me back and I’ll just try to prove myself again.”
