Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp makes worrying Tottenham admission ahead of clash

Liverpool host Tottenham at the weekend as they look to continue their impressive run of form.

Ahead of the action, Liverpool had a two-point lead at the top of the Premier League, but Manchester City could go back to the summit if they beat Fulham on Saturday.

Jurgen Klopp has admitted that believing a title win could be a reality makes it more possible, but warned that Tottenham will put up a stern challenge in their latest hurdle.

“If you expect not to have problems, then you’re going to have them,” Klopp said on Friday.

“You have to be ready for them.”

Spurs have won just one of their last 12 league fixtures against Liverpool, but their 4-1 win at Wembley in October 2017 has left Klopp worried of a repeat.

He added: “The game we lost before there was 4-1, right?

“Tottenham away is always a tough one.

“Tottenham away was an absolute big one, winning against them at their own ground is really rare and it felt good that day.”

Although the German touted away fixtures against Spurs as particularly tough, he remains confident that his team will have enough to win at Anfield, and mentioned three qualities that his players will need to show.

He continued: “Their skills are important. Their attitude and character is important.

“But to believe in something makes it more likely to happen.

“The problem is Man City believe as well. One will be disappointed at the end of the season.

“We will try everything to make May 13 a big day for us.

I know how difficult these games are. Why should we give Tottenham an advantage and say now we have to win?

“Let’s not go nuts, accept we will have problems in football games, like we had at Fulham.”
