Lille vs Chelsea: Confirmed team news and line-up ahead of Champions League clash

N’Golo Kante returned to the Chelsea line-up for the trip to Lille, but there was no place in the squad for Ross Barkley.

France midfielder Kante has had an injury-interrupted season and missed Saturday’s win over Brighton with a hamstring problem.

Barkley, who was pictured arguing with a taxi driver during a night out in Liverpool on Sunday, travelled to France with the squad but was left out by boss Frank Lampard.

Teenager Reece James was handed his Champions League debut at right wing-back.

Former Chelsea striker Loic Remy was among the substitutes for Lille.

When is it?

Kick-off is at 8pm at Stade Pierre- Mauroy.

How can I watch it?

The match will be broadcast on BT Sport 2 and can be streamed online via the BT app.

Odds

Despite winning just one of their last seven fixtures in the Champions League, Chelsea are even money favourites (2.00) to collect maximum points from this match.

After losing to Ajax in their opener, Lille are also on zero points but can be backed at 14/5 (3.80) to win.

A draw is priced at 5/2 (3.50)

Prediction

After starting their Champions league campaign with a shock 1-0 defeat at home, Lampard will be hoping that this loss will give his side more focus in their meeting with the French side.

But Lille  have won eight games in a row at home and have Ligue 1’s joint top goal scorer Victor Osimhen, suggesting Chelsea might struggle to gain the three points they desperately want.

Expect a close game but for Chelsea to secure a tight 2-1 victory.
