Liam Hemsworth surprises superfan bride at her Gold Coast wedding

Liam Hemsworth gave a female fan a wedding present she’ll never forget by surprising her on her big day on the Gold Coast on November 11. 

As newlyweds Katie and Shane arrived at the Currumbin Beach Vikings Surf Life Saving Club after their nuptials, the bride was stunned to find her ‘idol’ inside. 

By chance, Liam was already in the bar enjoying a drink with a male friend as the couple entered, and took time out to chat with them and take photographs.

‘Liam was near the window in good spirits talking to a male friend,’ said Kirk Willcox, the couple’s Gold Coast-based wedding photographer. 

‘He was all smiles and was happy to take photos with the bride and groom and congratulated the happy couple,’ the photographer told E! News.

Mr Willcox added that bride Katie was ‘in shock and over the moon’ by the unlikely encounter with her favourite actor, saying it ‘made their entire wedding day’.

British couple Katie and Shane flew to Australia with their friends and family for their beach wedding, making their encounter with local Liam even more special.  

Mr Willcox added that after Liam wished them well, he continued to have a relaxing evening with his friend by the beach.  

Actor Liam returned to Australia last week after wrapping filming on his latest project, TV show Dodge and Miles, in Toronto, Canada.

This time last year, Liam and estranged wife Miley Cyrus were preparing for their secret wedding at her $8.2 million Tennessee mansion. 

Liam’s entire family, including brother Chris Hemsworth, his wife Elsa Pataky and their three children, all flew to America for the low-key ceremony.

The Hemsworths then celebrated Christmas at a ski resort in Montana.
