Lewis Capaldi was forced to pause his concert last week after a brawl broke out while he was playing his second-to-last song of the night.

A fight broke out between around six people during the 23-year-olds saddest song Hold Me While You Wait so we’re confused about how it even started.

The singer, who was performing in Edinburgh on Thursday, opted to stop playing while the brawl was dealt with at his show at Usher Hall.

Lewis’ brave dad stepped in – along with security guards – to stop the rowdy fans, according to a witness.

A family source said: ‘Mark stood up between the people involved and his group of family and friends to help contain the trouble. He was very calm about it.’

His mum even helped comfort any scared fans who accidentally got caught up in the melee.

‘…The girls in the row in front of us were drunk when they arrived and were just completely out of order from the word go.

‘They were the first to throw the punches.’

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: ‘Officers were called to reports of an assault at the Usher Hall in Edinburgh, around 10.15pm on Thursday, 5 December, 2019.
