Lee Pomeroy's sister says on GMB she will never refer to brother's killer by his name


Kim Pomeroy was on Good Morning Britain today to talk about her late brother.

Her appearance comes after murderer Darren Pencille was sentenced to 28 years in prison last week for killing her brother Lee Pomeroy.

Pencille was sentenced at the Old Bailey on July 11 for the incident that took place on a train near Guildford on July 4.

The jury returned a unanimous verdict for Mr Pencille, 36, of Wilbury Road Farnham.

Kim was on GMB to talk about her late brother and her campaign to encourage the UK to crack down on knife crime.

First she thanked British Transport Police for their support.

She said: “We got what we wanted. And I’m not going to use his [Pencille’s] name – his name will never pass my lips. He is the murderer.”

Kim told Kate Garrawy she thought Pencille was a risk for a long time, saying: “Just look at his previous history.”

She also revealed how she will remmember her brother.

Kim divulged: “My brother was really funny and he cared he cared about the environment and property.

“He was kind, he was generous, he loved his son and lived for his family.”

She added that her “brother couldn’t abide bullies”.

GMB viewers were completely moved by the interview and flocked to Twitter to share their thoughts.

One Twitter user said: “What a lovely lady.”

While another continued: “My heart goes out to the family of a Lee Pomeroy. Horrific what happened to that poor man.”
