Law firm Morton Fraser secures pension property deal

Law firm Morton Fraser has been appointed to a new panel to provide legal services in Scotland for a pensions firm.

Under the agreement with Curtis Banks, which provides self-invested personal pensions, Morton Fraser will provide advice on investments in property held in pensions.

The deal is the latest in a series won by Morton Fraser’s Property in Pensions team, which include being named amongst the providers of legal services in Scotland for James Hay in 2017 and for Rowanmoor, part of the Embark Group, in 2018.

Fergus McDiarmid, leader of Morton Fraser’s team, said:   “There has been such a growing emphasis on property in pensions legal expertise in the last couple of years.

“Providers want the specialist expertise, especially those with the biggest and more complex portfolios so that they have certainty in the quality of legal advice provided and can manage the risks associated with large scale property holdings.”
