KIM Kardashian is one step closer to the release of her new legal documentary and teased fans for the first time about the upcoming special.
Oxygen’s Kim Kardashian West: The Justice Project will follow the prison reform advocate, 38, in her efforts to “secure freedom for Americans who she believes have been wronged by the justice system,” according to the network.

The film was announced last year but the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star spoke for the first time about her soon-to-be released passion project in a video posted to her Twitter page.
“I know a lot of you guys saw me going to the White House this year and getting involved with Alice Johnson’s case,” she enthusiastically told her followers.
“Well, the truth is, I’ve actually been getting involved in even more cases and we’ve been filming a documentary over the last few months.
“I can’t wait to share these stories with you,” the reality star concluded.

The Skims founder was an instrumental part of the team that worked to free former inmate Alice from her life sentence she received for a 1993 first-time, nonviolent drug offense.
She took her issue with the case and others like it to the White House in May 2018 and met with President Donald Trump – the pictures quickly went viral.
“Great meeting with @KimKardashian today, talked about prison reform and sentencing,” the President tweeted at the time alongside a stoic Kim next to him in the Oval Office.
Many people warned the mom-of-four – who is famously married to rapper Kanye West, 42 – against the Washington D.C. trip: “I got so many times people would say to me, ‘Don’t go to the White House, your career will be over, don’t go there.’

“And I just kind of weighed the decision where it was like … to save a life or to get maybe bad tweets about me or a bad news story for a few days. I guarantee you the people sitting behind bars do not care who the president is.
“They just want that relief. And so if I could have done that, I don’t care,” she told CNN last year.
After she served 21 years in prison, Alice was released from a federal correctional facility in June 2018 after the President commuted her sentence.
Images circulated last year of the media mogul on a visit to the District of Columbia Correctional Treatment Facility where she discussed the Georgetown Prison Scholars program – a higher education initiative for the incarcerated – with the inmates.
She described the program as something “every prison needs” and claimed “it’s changing lives!”
According to the network, Kim has also financed a campaign to free 17 inmates from federal prison who were serving life sentences for low-level drug crimes.
A release date for Oxygen’s two-hour special has yet to be announced.
