Killing Eve’s Jodie Comer ‘quietly enjoying coronavirus quarantine’ as hectic schedule grinds to a halt

Killing Eve’s Jodie Comer has admitted that she’s quite enjoying spending the downtime coronavirus quarantine has given her, as her busy schedule meant she spent no time at home.

The actress returned to the UK after filming for Ridley Scott movie The Last Duel was forced to stop as control measures to prevent the covid-19 spread kicked in.

But Jodie, who is about to return to our screens as the murderous assassin Villanelle, has said that her return home has been bittersweet.

Speaking to Press Association, the star said: ‘As much as I’d want to definitely be carrying on with that [the film], I’ve actually been able to come home, unpack like seven suitcases because I haven’t been here, and I’ve thrown out so much rubbish!’

‘And, actually, to have a bit of stillness, and be stationary, I’m actually really kind of… I’m a bit embarrassed to say I’m kind of enjoying it,’ she added.

However, she knew it’s something that might wear thin quickly, considering most of the UK is currently in its third week of isolation.

‘It’s week one for me, and I’ve got friends who are on week three, and they’re pulling their hair out,’ Jodie admitted.

‘So, you can come back and ask me that in a couple of weeks and I’m sure the answer may be very different.’

While Jodie is embracing the positive side to being locked inside, the UK is getting ready to see her return to our screens for the latest episodes of Killing Eve.

After shooting Eve in the back and leaving her for dead in Rome, the country-hopping killer Villanelle has found herself getting over her ‘ex’ and starting a new life.

… But since when has that stopped her going on a murder spree for hire anyway?

However, after discovering that Eve (Sandra Oh) is still alive, the pair’s constant cat-and-mouse chase is back on.

Who will make it out alive this time?

Killing Eve launches 13 April on BBC iPlayer and airs Sunday 19 April on BBC One.
