Killing Eve: Who is Konstantin actor Kim Bodnia and where have you seen him before?

Killing Eve is finally back on our screens for season two.

Kim Bodnia’s Konstantin is among the faces from season one which have returned to the show, along with Fiona Shaw, Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh.

As we wait for the rest of the season to unfold, let’s take a closer look at Bodnia and his career to date…

Who is Konstantin actor Kim Bodnia from Killing Eve?

Kim Bodnia, 54, is a Danish actor who has worked steadily on Scandinavian TV shows and films since the late 80s.

Bodnia, born in 1965, trained at the National Theatre School in Copenhagen, and his film debut came in 1989 when he played a bouncer in En Afgrund af frihed (An Abyss of Freedom).

Along with Killing Eve, he’s perhaps best known for appearing in the likes of crime drama series The Bridge, and for starring in Nicolas Winding Refn’s Pusher alongside Mads Mikkelson in 1996.

Bodnia is also well known for playing Jens Arnkiel in Nightwatch in 1994 – the part which served as his breakout role.

He has also worked behind the camera, having co-written and directed a short film called Escape – Flugten fra ensomheden (Escape – Flight from loneliness) in 2001, and directed readings of the play The Tailor’s Tale, which was written by his cousin Alexander Bodin Saphir about the experiences of their grandfather in Nazi occupied Copenhagen.

As for his personal life, Bodnia’s first marriage was to actress Lotte Andersen, with whom he has a son.

He’s currently married to Rikke Louise Andersson, another actress, with who whom he has two sons and a daughter.

Killing Eve is next on BBC One tonight, 15 June, at 9:15pm.
