Kiefer Sutherland cancels European tour after ‘serious injury’

Kiefer Sutherland has cancelled the remaining dates on his European tour after a “serious injury,” the actor and singer announced on social media.

The Designated Survivor star said in an Instagram post on Thursday that he slipped on the steps of his tour bus and injured a rib, “making it difficult to breathe and impossible to sing.”

The actor said that the accident happened while travelling to Denmark.

The 52-year-old wrote added: “Regretfully, I will not be able to perform the last 3 shows of our tour, but have every intention of making up these shows up in September / October when we return.”

The 24 star ended his note with an apology to his fans.

“I am so sorry for any inconvenience that I have caused to the fans who have bought tickets,” he said. “I will do everything I can to make it up to you. Thank you for understanding.”

Sutherland had been on tour in Europe in support of his second album. The three shows that were cancelled were scheduled to take place in Denmark and Sweden.

The singer seemed to take a light-hearted approach to his injury as he shared a funny video on Twitter on Saturday, poking a little fun at himself while thanking fans for their support.

He posted a GIF of a cat rolling downstairs and wrote: “Thank you all for your incredible kindness and support.

“We’ll be back on the road before you know it… and I promise to be more careful walking downstairs on a moving bus!”

Sutherland’s second country album, Reckless & Me, debuted earlier this year, following his critically acclaimed 2016 debut album Down In A Hole.
