Kevin Clifton, 36, took to Instagram to open up about his last day performing in Rock of Ages, which he has been starring in since January. The Strictly Come Dancing professional, who is dating Stacey Dooley, 32, addressed the big change in view of his 324,000 followers, filmed in his dressing room. He explained: “It’s my last day on Rock of Ages. Since January I have been playing a wild and arrogant rockstar, devilishly handsome obviously, called Stacee Jaxx in the musical.” Kevin went on to reveal his part marked the first time he had “put himself out there” by showcasing his vocals.
He gushed: “I’ve just had the best, best time.
“It’s not my first musical, but it’s my first sort of main part in a musical and certainly the first time I’ve put myself out there for everyone to hear me singing and not just dancing.
“I’ve been doing a lot of singing and acting so I just want to say how much I’ve loved it and I’m very grateful for the team on Rock of Ages, who have been so wonderful in terms of their talent but also with me.
“I love them all very dearly and I’ve learnt a lot from them.”
The busy star said he “left Strictly rehearsals” yesterday to rush from London to Leeds for his final two shows in the touring production.
Kevin then paid tribute to his rockstar character by posing for a selfie in his costume.
The dancer shared yet another post dedicated to the musical on his Instagram page.
Posting a snap of himself belting out a song on stage, he added the caption: “Last day of @rockofagesmusicaluk.
“I’ve learned so much from this amazingly talented cast and loved every second of this musical.
“Living the dream, loving life. Thank you all for supporting. Let’s rock one last time!”
