DRINKWORKS: SPECS

The single-serve cocktail machine will retail at $399 but can be pre-ordered for $299.

Pods, which come in packs of four, can be purchased for $15.99

There will be 24 different drinks, including like margaritas and gin and tonics, that contain about a shot of alcohol each.

Like Keurig’s popular coffee machine, the Drinkworks beverage maker allows users to make single-serve cocktails like mojitos, gin and tonics, margaritas, white Russians and more.

Altogether manufactures will offer 24 different drinks.

Drinkworks functions similar to Keurig’s popular coffee machines by adding water and carbonation to the pod which contains about a shot of alcohol.

Initial machines were piloted in St. Louis in November for $399 retail and can be pre-ordered now for $299.

Drink pods, which are sold separately and come in packs of four go for about $15.99 according to a report from CNBC.

Both companies are hoping that the machine will give them a shot of adrenaline as both Keurig and Anheuser Busch have contended with decelerating sales in recent months.

Previous ventures by Keurig to partner with other companies in developing their own machine have fallen flat.

A partnership with Coca-Cola which allowed users to make their own soda at home was discontinued a year after it was started.
