Kesha has revealed her true feelings about rap mogul P Diddy after the sexual assault allegations against him, by changing the lyrics to one of her biggest hits.

The American singer-songwriter, 37, whose full name is Kesha Sebert, was on stage at Coachella when she altered the words to her 2009 single TikTok.

Right now, Diddy, 54, whose real name is Sean Combs, is the subject of numerous allegations of sexual assault and sex trafficking, with two of his properties raided by Homeland Security in March.

Usually, TikTok, which reached number four in the UK charts in 2010, starts with the line, ‘Wake up in the morning feeling like P Diddy, grab my glasses, I’m out the door, I’m gonna hit this city.’

While Kesha references Diddy in the lyrics, the record executive can be heard in the background saying, ‘Hey, what up, girl?’ and ‘Let’s go!’ as the song continues. Kesha revealed that Diddy provided his vocals for free as a favour.

But with serious allegations now hanging over the producer’s head, Kesha has decided that the old lyrics are no longer suitable to perform in public.

During her Sunday night cameo at Coachella, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2024, Kesha made sure to send a message to her fans that she’s denounced Diddy for good.

When she was brought on stage by Renée Rapp, Kesha sang, ‘Wake up in the morning like, f*** P Diddy,’ with Diddy’s voice nowhere to be heard in the background.

The altered lyrics went down well with the crowd who cheered loudly in response.

Diddy has strongly denied the allegations via his legal team, who in a statement accused US police of using ‘military-level force.’

‘Yesterday, there was a gross overuse of military-level force as search warrants were executed at Mr Combs’ residences,’ they said.

The statement continued: ‘There is no excuse for the excessive show of force and hostility exhibited by authorities or the way his children and employees were treated.

‘Mr Combs was never detained but spoke to and cooperated with authorities. Despite media speculation, neither Mr Combs nor any of his family members have been arrested nor has their ability to travel been restricted in any way.’

Kesha herself filed a civil lawsuit against the producer of the song, Dr. Luke, in 2014, alleging emotional distress, sex-based crimes, and employment discrimination.

A nine-year court battle raged until, in 2023, Kesha and Dr. Luke, whose real name is Lukasz Gottwald, announced they had reached a settlement after almost a decade of suits and countersuits.

The crowd’s response to Kesha at Coachella seemed to be much warmer than the reception Blur received during their late-night set, with Damon Albarn vowing never to come back to the festival.

During their performance of hit song Girls and Boys, Damon noticed the crowd were rather quiet and tried to get them to sing along, but received near-silence in response. He then turned his ire on the audience.

‘You’re never seeing us again, so you might as well f*****g sing it.’
