CATWALK STARS: B&M has Christmas dog bandanas for £1, woolly hats for £1.50 and leg warmers for £2. Pets At Home’s similar hat will set you back £5. If you want to nab your pet a festive jumper, the best range I found is at Pets At Home. It has all sorts for £10, or £12 depending on the size. That is a fur bit cheaper than the £14 it would cost you at Sainsbury’s, £14.
SAVE: £3.50 on a dog hat
STOCK UP: While Tesco has dog and cat advent calendars for £2.50, Wilko’s £2 versions will save you 50p. Head to B&M for a £2 treat-filled dog stocking. For small animals, stick to a calendar. Christmas Tails’ is £2 at Pets At Home, compared to its £6 stocking. Another option is the Happy Pets small animal cracker, £1.49 at fetch.co.uk.

GAME ON: Rosewood’s Christmas dinner-flavour toy bone is £6.99 at Argos. You will pay £9 at fetch.co.uk. For cats, Pets At Home has Christmas Tails scrunchie balls for £1. Rosewood’s tunnel is perfect for small animals. It is £1.99 at petplanet.co.uk. Was £2.49.
SAVE: £2.01 on a dog toy
BED DOWN: Get a Clever Claws printed pet blanket for £1 at The Range, while a similar throw costs £3.99 at B&M.
Home Bargains is great for beds, with prices starting at £3.99. That is £4 cheaper than Aldi. Its £4.99 tartan option is particularly festive. It also has a cat radiator bed for £4.99.

DOG’S DINNER: Bakers’ Christmas tin for mutts costs £5 at Wilko but £4 at Tesco. Dog-friendly mince pies are £1.50 at B&M, £1 cheaper than at Tesco. Pawsecco’s “wine” for pets is £2.25 at snootycatz.co.uk, down from £2.95. At Pets At Home, Christmas Tails’ gingerbread treat is just a quid.
