Kate Silverton insists BBC co-star Simon McCoy’s secret move to GB News was not a surprise

Across the channel, Simon also presented various programmes including BBC News 24, BBC Breakfast and Afternoon Live.

Elsewhere, Kate has released her first book, which is set to change the way we understand children’s brain development, particularly between the ages 0 to 5.

The journalist, who is on placement as a children’s counsellor after studying Psychology at university, also said parents will understand why there is no such thing as “naughty” in the first chapter of her book, where she details why the naughty step isn’t beneficial.

She said: “The results that I’m seeing whether that’s counselling the clients that I have or my own children, or hearing other people say that their children have benefited from the book already, that just brings me the greatest joy!”

There’s No Such Thing As Naughty, by Kate Silverton (Little, Brown, £14.99) is out now.
