Kate Moss On Her Earliest Make-Up Memory And Her Signature Look

As the face of Japanese luxury beauty brand Decorté, Kate Moss talks exclusively to Vogue to celebrate the launch of two new products in the AQ make-up range.

The edited seven piece AQ make-up range consists only of base products. In the classic J-Beauty vein, the products have been created to feel totally featherweight – such is the obsession for skin perfection in Japan. The aim? To create a glowing complexion and flawless base. So who better to be the face of the brand than Kate Moss?

What’s your favourite piece of Decorté make-up and why?

I love the Sheer Brilliance Tint (£90, available at Selfridges.co.uk). It has a lightweight texture and gives your skin a really even coverage whilst also working as a treatment too, firming and lifting your skin. The best bit is it has SPF 35 and so protects your skin from sun damage.

What make-up tricks have you picked up backstage or on a shoot that you swear by?

When you haven’t got time to do a full look but need a bit of colour, apply your lipstick and then blot off the excess with your finger and pat onto your cheekbones – it gives an instant glow. Decorté Rouge Lipstick (£32, available at Selfridges.co.uk) has a high pigmentation so works perfectly for this trick.

AQ Lasting UV Primer

What’s your first memory of make-up?

Back in the ’80s, buying a shimmer lipstick for the school disco, but I didn’t really wear make-up much in my younger years apart from when I was working. A smoky eye and a nude lip was always my go-to look.

When and how did you discover Decorté?

I was introduced to Decorté over four years ago when they approached me to be the brand ambassador and face of their campaign. They sent products for me to try, which I loved and so began our relationship. We have continued to work together on shoots and events ever since.

AQ Radiant Glow Lifting Liquid Foundation

What is your favourite thing to do in Japan/Tokyo?

Visiting the hot spring spa! Decorté use Onsen water in most of their products and they introduced me to its benefits, not only for your skin but also its healing properties. The Japanese massages are great too and I always come away feeling rejuvenated after a short stay.
