Kanye West has created a new font based on his handwriting for some reason

Kanye West has conquered the worlds of music and fashion. (And, somewhat inexplicably, has his sights set on politics, too.)

And now, he’s coming for typography.

We’re sure Times New Roman is shaking in its metaphorical boots.

Indeed, the I Love It rapper revealed he’s designing a new font today (that’s one cure for lockdown boredom), while also sharing pictures of the creative process on social media.

‘Hand designing a 2020 future font FTR FNT,’ he said in a tweet, along with an image of his handwriting.

Then, sharing a pic of a digital version of his letters, Kanye again wrote: ‘FTR FNTS.’

(We sincerely hope that’s not the name. Although, what fontname isn’t faintly ridiculous?)

He then shared a screengrab of a message from someone known as ‘Benno [picture of a dove] Russell Font’, which reads ‘I have done the letters, can you write out [series of numbers and symbols]’.

The star then shared another pic with the message ‘RMN NMRLS’… suggesting this project could go on and on.

Aspiring politician Kanye – who, along with wife Kim Kardashian, is a parent to North, seven, Saint, four, Chicago, two and Psalm, one – also caused a stir on social media his week when he Photoshopped his face onto an image of Mount Rushmore.

As you do.

It had been reported that the star had ended his dream of being US President after only scoring 2% in a recent poll and missing some ballot deadlines. However, he has now filed a second set of paperwork to continue his battle.
