Kanye West no longer supports President Donald Trump.

The rapper – who has never voted in his life – is ‘taking the red hat off’ as he focuses on his own presidential campaign.

He initially backed Trump as he felt he was ‘the closest president we’ve had in years to allowing God to still be part of the conversation’, he told Forbes.

Ye previously distanced himself from Trump two years ago claiming that he was being ‘used to spread messages I don’t believe in’.

He tweeted at the time: ‘I am distancing myself from politics and completely focusing on being creative!!!’

Kanye recently announced that he is running for president this year and has the backing of his wife Kim Kardashian and tech billionaire Elon Musk.

Saying God gave him ‘clarity’ when decided to run in 2020, he explained his approach to policy making.

‘I don’t have a policy when I went to Nike and designed Yeezy and went to Louis and designed a Louis Vuitton at the same time.

‘It wasn’t a policy, it was a design. We need to innovate the design to be able to free the mind at this time.’

However his foreign policy isn’t ‘developed’ yet as he is ‘focused on protecting America first’ by emulating the fictional country of Wakanda, as seen in the Marvel movie Black Panther.

‘It’s the best explanation of what our design group is going to feel like in the White House,’ the dad-of-four said.

Despite the Touch The Sky rapper’s best intentions, he has in fact missed several key deadlines he had to make if he wants to run.

He is too late to register as an independent candidate in several states, however if he gets a wiggle on he could still register in states such as Florida, South Carolina, Missouri, Michigan and Colorado as their deadlines fall in July.
