Juventus vs Tottenham LIVE: Spurs name experimental line-up to take on Cristiano Ronaldo’s full-strength side

Follow the latest updates live from the International Champions Cup clash between Juventus and Tottenham Hotspur in Singapore as the pre-season tournament continues.

Spurs have named an experimental side, with Mauricio Pochettino giving a number of his fringe and youth players a chance against the Italian champions. Toby Alderweireld captains the side with Dele Alli, Son Heung-min and Harry Winks all selected to start, although Hugo Lloris misses out with tonsillitis.

Juventus meanwhile have gone with a much stronger line-up that features Cristiano Ronaldo, Emre Can and the returning Gianluigi Buffon, though Aaron Ramsey is not fit enough to feature and new signing Matthiijs de Ligt it left on the bench alongside Adrien Rabiot and Gonzalo Higuain. Follow the live updates below.

6: Ronaldo has just attempted an overhead kick which gets the fans going here in this impressive stadium. It goes nowhere near the ball, but that’s not the point…

5: Chance for Spurs! Great pressing high up the pitch from Skipp sees Spurs win possession and Son is played through. He takes it wide, wide again and then even wider before getting a shot away, which hits the outside of the post.

4: It appears that Mandzukic is playing through the middle and Ronaldo is playing with what seems to be a free role, either that or he’s ignoring everything Sarri said to him ahead of the game.

1: Strong start from Spurs, straight back to Tanganga and hoofed out for a throw in Juventus’ half. Welcome to pre-season, everybody!

KICK OFF

We’re off in Singapore!

After a coin toss, that was in fact more of a card toss…don’t ask, Tottenham begin the match.

Spurs begin their International Champions Cup campaign against Juventus. These really are the moments that you look back on as a player at the end of your career and think: ‘I was there’…

So, we are likely to get our first glimpse of new Tottenham signing Tanguy Ndombele.

Here’s why he might be the most important Spurs signing in, well, ever…

Not long to go, kick-off in Singapore is just under 10 minutes away.

Even aged 34, there has been no sign of Ronaldo slowing down in recent years. He never gives less than everything he’s got in training, and today we have the first chance to see what this season may hold for him.

Pochettino places a huge amount of faith in the young players in his squad and there are some huge tests for some of the teenagers out there.

17-year-old Troy Parrott comes up against Leonardo Bonucci, a veteran regarded as one of the best Italian defenders of a generation.

The entire defence will be tested by the power of Ronaldo, including Tanganga, 20, and Georgiou, 22.

Tottenham supporters will have to wait a little longer for Ndombele to make his first start in a Spurs shirt.
