Jurgen Klopp reveals one thing he's not worried about in Liverpool's title battle

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is not worried about the title race being decided by goal difference.

The Reds are going toe-to-toe with Manchester City at the top of the table, but Pep Guardiola’s free-scoring champions have the edge in terms of goals scored and conceded.

The last time the two clubs slugged it out for the Premier League was in 2014, when the pressure of keeping pace with City saw Liverpool blow a 3-0 lead at Crystal Palace to virtually deliver the title to the Etihad.

City also pipped rivals Manchester United to the Premier League on goal difference seven years ago.

But Klopp said: “I can’t tell the boys to go out there and score six goals because it’s disrespectful.

“You score when you score. People may say when we play Huddersfield , for example, that we can improve our goal difference.

“But, as always, it can only be a case of score the first goal and then try to score the second.

“If the boys are doing it right then they don’t stop. You never stop.

“We cannot go for it any more than we are going for it now – and a game against Spurs is probably not the best time to think about this.

“We do know that it can be a decisive thing. But hopefully we will not have to change our plans.

“Maybe in the last game against Wolves , if we need to win by three or four goals, then we will try.

“But then changing the way we think might play into their hands.”
