Jurgen Klopp 'finds final piece of puzzle' to complete Liverpool's defence

Jurgen Klopp reportedly believes Diego Carlos would complete his Liverpool defence.

The Reds boss is seemingly very happy with the team he has assembled at Anfield, but is always on the lookout for new recruits.

Spanish publication Sport is reporting, via Sport Witness, that Sevilla star Carlos has been identified as a possible summer target.

The report adds that Liverpool are at the front of the queue to sign the 27-year-old, and that Klopp believes he can complete his back-four playing alongside Virgil van Dijk.

Carlos has a €70million release clause in his contract, which could prove to be a stumbling block for the Reds.

Klopp has previously splashed out big money on the likes of £67million keeper Alisson and £75million centre-back Van Dijk.

But the German has prioritised signing lesser known players for small transfer fees in the past few windows; Sepp van den Berg, Harvey Elliott and Takumi Minamino recent examples.

He is unlikely to revert to his old ways, given Liverpool are reigning Champions League winners and just two victories away from a first Premier League title.
