Jodie Comer has admitted that she finds it ‘mad’ to think that she is working with Matt Damon and Ben Affleck on controversial new film The Last Duel.
The 26-year-old actress is set to star across from the acting icons in Ridley Scott’s latest project.
Set in the medieval era, Ben, 47 and Matt, 49, play knights who are forced to fight a duel to the death in order to defend their honour after one of the knights is accused of sexually assaulting the other’s wife, played by Jodie.
Speaking to MTV News about acting opposite the pair, the Emmy winning actress admitted that despite her future co-stars’ legendary status, she had only recently fully come to appreciate their work.
‘Embarrassingly, I only watched Good Will Hunting like two years ago, which I probably shouldn’t say, working in the film industry,’ she said.
However, we’ll let Jodie off, given that she was only four years old at the time the Oscar-winning film was released in 1999. Bit weird…

Asked if she was aware just how big her age gap with Matt and Ben was, the actress joked: ‘No, but I’m going to bring that up.’
Laughing, she continued: ‘I’ll let you know how that goes down. Probably lose my job.’
While little is known about The Last Duel beyond its vague plot outline, many people admitted to feeling a little uneasy about the film when it was announced in July, due to its perceived use of female trauma to further the men’s stories.
In particular, many fans were disappointed to hear that Jodie was attached to the project, having played such an iconic, independent woman in Killing Eve.
‘Oh, neat, so she’s playing the daughter of one of them, that is so- *checks notes* oh, the wife,’ one wrote, ‘She’s playing the WIFE of one of them. FUN.’

I love you Jodie but the plot is horrible and you can do so much better than this pic.twitter.com/f7KdoH2ixg

However, Jodie only had good things to say about the project, explaining: ‘To work with Ridley, it’s just insane. When I read the script, I loved the script.
‘The character is this remarkable woman who risked her own life and reclaimed her life in the process and I’m so excited, honestly.’
OK Jodie, we’re trusting you on this one…
