Jimmy Carr fans confuse comic for Johnny Vaughan as he shows off new hair transplant on Save Our Summer

JIMMY Carr fans confuse the comic for Johnny Vaughan as he shows off his new hair transplant on Peter Crouch: Save Our Summer.

The comic has shown off the results of a secret hair transplant after being left looking like a “snooker playing vampire”.

The star shocked Peter and co-host Maya Jama during filming after ditching his trademark black quiff, with Maya commenting: “It’s a very different look for you.”

However, fans noticed that he looked quite similar – to TV and radio personality Johnny Vaughan.

One person said: “Jimmy Carr and Johnny Vaughan have never been seen in the same room together #petercrouchsaveoursummer”

Another added: “@jimmycarr You look like a young Johnny Vaughan with your hair like that.”

But someone else suggested he looked like money expert Martin Lewis, saying: “Jimmy Carr is Johnny Vaughan and I claim my tax rebate #SaveOurSummer”

Opening up about the operation, Jimmy explained: “I tell you what I did, I went and had a hair transplant.

“I kinda had a look of… Like a snooker playing vampire.”

Maya joked: “I always called you a vampire”, with Peter adding: “I said snooker player, she said vampire funnily enough.”

Jimmy laughed: “Well you’re both right.

“So what happened was my hair was socially distancing from my forehead and I’d had enough of it.”

Going into more detail about the procedure, the star – who previously confessed to having Botox – continued: “I genuinely did. I shaved my head and what they do is take hairs from the back of your head and they put them on the front.

“Basically I had enough hair, it was just in the wrong place. It was a bit of redistribution.”

Hair transplants are an intricate and expensive procedure which gives people a thicker hairline.

Jimmy follows in the footsteps of footballer Wayne Rooney, director Guy Ritchie, Strictly pro Anton du Beke and Cold Feet actor James Nesbitt, who’ve all had it done.

The procedure is a favourite among male celebrities who say their careers are aided by maintaining a fuller head of hair.

It can cost around £20,000 to have a transplant at a top clinic, but that’s not a problem for Jimmy, who is estimated to be worth £12million as a result of his TV presenting and sell-out stand-up tours.
