Jessica Chastain is tearing up the fashion rulebook — and we are obsessed. Once upon a time, platform boots were reserved exclusively for Bratz dolls and Spice Girls. And they are certainly not meant to be paired with an elegant trouser suit. According to the unwritten fashion rule book, a trouser suit calls for more dignified footwear — say ballerina flats, loafers or heels.
However, Jessica Chastain is not one to play by the rules. The Memory actor recently stepped out in a daring aubergine-coloured trouser suit paired with — wait for it — a pair of towering platform boots. Cue gasps of shock-horror from fashion aficionados everywhere.

This is, of course, not the first time Chastain has experimented with unusual colours and combos. And while Chastain’s bold platform boots may look a little out of place with this chic outfit, sky high boots are actually having a moment. In fact, in the past few years, they’ve been cropping up on red carpets everywhere.
Maybe it’s time we all got a little more experimental — after all, it’s 2024 and maybe, platform boots really can go with anything.
