Jess Glynne thanks ‘inspiring’ Spice Girls for ‘dream’ reunion tour: ‘I feel blessed to know you all’

Jess Glynne shared an emotional Instagram tribute thanking the Spice Girls for asking her to support them on their recent reunion tour.

The singer said that the band have been “nothing but light in [her] life” from childhood and are “exactly what the Spice Girls stand for on and off stage.”

Sharing a photo of herself standing in the middle of Melanie Chisholm, Geri Horner, Emma Bunton and Melanie Brown on stage at Wembley Stadium, she wrote: “The first gig I went to in Wembley arena was The Spice Girls!

“I was a dreamer then and these 5 girls (back then) taught me to be free, be me, be proud to be a woman and to not give a f***!

“21 years later I stood on the same stage and toured with these ladies, not a dream a f****** reality!

“Thank you for having me. You have been nothing but light in my life from when I was a kid to right now.”

Glynne said that the band have “inspired [her], encouraged [her] and shown [her] nothing but love and support” and admitted that she felt “blessed” to know the group.

Bunton responded to the sweet post by commenting “Love you to bits!” while Brown added: “Ahhhh Jess such sweet words awww but let’s not forget how bad a** you are.”

The post comes after Brown reportedly denied a “secret romance” with Glynne.

“They became so close while on tour that there were whispers behind the scenes that they were having a secret romance,” a source told The Sun. “But Mel is adamant they’re just pals.”

The singer recently pulled out of her Isle of Wight festival slot, which was set to take place the day after the Spice Girls’ final Wembley gig.

In an Instagram statement addressing her decision, she said that she was “incredibly weak and full of anxiety” and “had to do what was right for [her] physical and mental health.”

“I refuse to be made to feel like a bad person,” she wrote. “I’m sure many of you out there haven’t been well a day in your life and not been able to go to work. Well, I’m not different to you!”
