It takes some doing to upstage Jennifer Lopez and Shakira – especially at the Super Bowl 2020 halftime show… but JLo’s daughter absolutely did it.

Emme Muniz, Jen’s 11-year-old daughter with Marc Anthony, made her singing debut for a rendition of Born in The USA and Let’s Get Loud alongside her mum, and absolutely smashed it as the crowd went wild for her.

While JLo changed costumes numerous times and belted out her hits, it was Emme’s surprise appearance that really got people talking.

Set on a stage that’s laid out like the symbol for women, Shakira and JLo really did make every second count with a selection of their biggest hits.

When Emme appeared, her mum was shortly behind with a massive tribute to Puerto Rico in a pointed jab at those who argue it’s not part of America.

Proudly bearing a double-sided flag – one bearing Puerto Rico and one bearing the US flags, the pair then sang together while Shakira played on the drums.

Marc Anthony later tweeted his pride at his young girl, simply stating: ‘Emme Daddy is so proud of you. You are my [heart] and I am forever yours.’

The girls turned the 65,000 capacity venue into an intimate party with the duo’s classic including She Wolf, Jenny From The Block, Waiting for Tonight and Africa.

Every track a certified banger, no wonder Jennifer’s fiancé Alex Rodriguez was partying up a storm in the middle of it all.

Shakira and JLo joined the ranks of stars who don’t get paid to headline the halftime show, shunning payment in favour of the exposure the 12-15 minute set brings them.

Beamed into the TV screens of approximately 100million viewers, the pair are set to rake in the cash in the long-run with tour announcements, live ticket sales and streaming earnings.

Marc Ganis, the president of consulting firm Sportscorp, told Forbes ahead of the show: ‘They are willing to perform for free and even subsidize the production costs through their record label or concert promoters because of this incredible exposure.

‘Even the biggest names need to continually promote themselves. The Super Bowl halftime show is the single biggest promotional vehicle for a music star on the planet.’
