Jennifer Garner won’t allow daughter Violet, 13, to join Instagram amid concerns over impact on teen mental health: ‘I don’t see anything positive’
Jennifer Garner‘s daughter Violet is a teenager now, so naturally she must be pretty interested in joining Instagram.
But as far as creating an account for the 13-year-old goes, Jennifer is putting her foot down.
The actress, 41, revealed on Next Question With Katie Couric she won’t allow her daughter to officially join the app because she doesn’t believe it’s a particularly healthy place for girls her age.

‘I just say, when you can show me studies that say that teenage girls are happier using Instagram than not, then we can have the conversation,’ she explained on Katie’s podcast.
‘But everything you look at, I don’t see anything positive for you out there,’ Jennifer explained.
She has allowed Violet access to her own account as an alternative to getting their own.
‘You can look at mine when you want to, we can go over it together, but I just don’t see it,’ she added.

Jennifer is currently raising her three children with ex-husband Ben Affleck.
In addition to Violet, the exes share daughter Seraphina, 10, and son Samuel, seven.
