Gemma Atkinson, 36, has reflected on dancing with Aljaz Skorjanec, 31, on Strictly Come Dancing in 2018, where they made it to the final of the show. The actress revealed the dancer “fell in love” with her hometown Manchester, where they used to rehearse, and now wants to buy a house there.
The Hits Radio host lives in the city with her husband-to-be Gorka Marquez and their daughter Mia.
Speaking of her hometown, she began by explaining how her fiancé, who is from Spain, had adapted to living in Manchester.
“He always says he’s an honourable Manchurian now,” she spilled. “He’s from Spain and he’s got so many mates in Manchester.”
Back in 2018, Strictly Come Dancing’s Aljaz regularly travelled to the city for rehearsals with Gemma.

The latter said it was that year he “fell in love” with Manchester and has since made plans to buy a house there.
She added: “Since then, every year, Aljaz has been looking at places to buy in Manchester because he just fell in love with the city.
“Him and his wife Janette were like, ‘there’s no city like it’.
“So I think everyone I know who’s been to the city has ultimately fell in love with it,” she added on the We Built This City: Greater Manchester podcast.
“That’s it. Done,” she added, laughing.
Gorka replied: “Well, you have the best time now, you know, you’re at home together, no dancing… there is nothing better to do!”
The dancer then turned to his daughter and jokingly asked: “Do you want a friend to dance?”
“She wants a friend to dance, hurry up,” he added to Janette.
