James Cracknell's ex Beverly Turner says she's having 'fun' with hunky toyboy

Strictly‘s James Cracknell got eliminated early on in the BBC competition this year, much to his disappointment.

But his ex-wife Beverly Turner seems to be doing just fine, as she opened up about life with her 31-year-old toyboy on Jeremy Vine today.

The 45-year-old beauty discussed life in your mid-forties, as it was revealed middle-aged Brits are the unhappiest age-bracket in the UK.

Journalist Beverly admitted she wasn’t especially happy most of the time as she was devoting her energy to her kids.

With a smile on her face, she added: “I’ve got a 31-year-old boyfriend though that adds a little more fun!”

The studio erupted into whoops, as she turned to Jeremy, saying: “You know this.”

Months after her split from ex-hubby James, Beverly is said to have found love with eco-housing property developer James Pritchett.

Lost for words, host Jeremy turned to panelist Storm Huntley and asked her opinion.

She remarked: “Do I have a 31-year-old boyfriend?

“Nope, I’d like one though!”

Radio presenter Beverly tied the knot with Olympic gold medallist rower James back in 2002 in an intimate ceremony in Gloucestershire.

Beverly and James broke the news of their split earlier this year

The former flames have three children together – a son, aged 16, and two daughters aged 10 and eight.

In 2012, the two wrote a memoir together titled Touching Distance, which detailed James’ traumatic brain injury and subsequent recovery.

Earlier this year, it was announced they had split several months previously, making it clear they’d done all they could to make the relationship work.

James was the first contestant to be eliminated from this year’s Strictly

Their statement read: “We can confirm that sadly we separated last year. Together, we remain committed to our amazing children, they are our absolute priority.”

James added: “We’re also, as any couple is, different people from who you were 17 years ago and we can look back and say we did everything.”

Jeremy Vine continues on weekdays at 9.15am on Channel 5.
