Jameela Jamil has hit back at Piers Morgan after he shared messages sent by Caroline Flack to him addressing ‘hate’ from The Good Place star.

It comes after Caroline, 40, tragically died by suicide on 15 February, ahead of her trial after being charged with assault following an incident with boyfriend Lewis Burton. She denied the charge while Lewis also didn’t support the trial.

Jameela had previously called out Caroline’s show The Surjury, which was described as ‘problematic’ by some in its premise of showcasing people who want plastic surgery pitching their stories and requests to a group of strangers, with former Love Island host Caroline previously responding to The Good Place star’s criticism.

Even though that was all said and done, Piers has now shared messages previously sent to him by Caroline, in which she said she was ‘struggling’ with Jameela.

In screenshots posted by Piers, Caroline had written: ‘Please have pictures… I’m struggling with Jameela. The hate she aims at me.’

Bear in mind there is no context around these messages, with viewers in the dark as to what the pair had been talking about in the lead-up to Caroline’s DM.

Piers wrote alongside the snap: ‘Jameela Jamil is having a lot to say about online harassment, so in the interests of balance, here is a message Caroline Flack sent me last October after the same Jameela Jamil led an online pile-on against her regarding a new TV show she was doing.’

Even though she’d recently blocked Piers, Jameela was all across his post as she hit back at his criticism and said the presenter was trying to ‘push her over the edge’.

‘I simply said I found the show “surjury” (not her) problematic for kids to watch,’ Jameela wrote. ‘And that love island needed some more diversity. Both times Caroline instigated debate with ME even though I was not targeting or blaming her at all. I always just politely explained my point.’

Piers’s messages were not taken lightly by Twitter, who berated the Good Morning Britain host, with many fearing the onslaught of trolling Jameela would now face from social media users, especially as Jameela recently addressed the hate directed at her amid Munchausen claims, which she had vehemently denied.

Followers blasted Piers, with one writing: ‘I don’t see what you are trying to achieve, try and use your influence and following for something good rather than hate.’

Another pointed out: ‘Isn’t this just perpetuating a pile-on, on another person. Where does it end.’

This comes after Keith Lemon spoke of wanting to start a festival in honour of Caroline to raise money for mental health charity Samaritans, with the #BeKind campaign likewise gaining traction online to take down hate and trolling.

Piers attempted to justify his comment, after he was called out by his followers and asked if anything had been learnt in the past week, with many pointing the finger at the issue of social media trolling in the wake of Caroline’s death.

‘Actually, what I’ve learned is there are some quite breathtaking hypocrites out there who need to be called out,’ Piers wrote.

Over the weekend, Jameela revealed that the cruel taunting over her mental and physical health in recent weeks ‘triggered her to the point of near-death’.

The Good Place actress had been relentlessly trolled and hit with online accusations that she’d been lying about her previous illnesses, causing her to hit back at claims that she’s got Munchausen’s syndrome – a mental disorder in which a person repeatedly and deliberately acts as if they have a physical or mental illness when they are in fact not sick.

While addressing the claims once more, Jameela shared a statement to tell her Twitter followers that she’s ‘done with the bullying’.

She wrote in part: ‘And we are done. I’m tired of the bullying. The taunting over my mental and physical health. I’m sorry to the people who have munchausen that your health was used as a punchline and slur by people like Piers Morgan and other such powerful people online.

‘I am so sorry to all the people who shared their accounts of not being believed over their chronic health problems and invisible disabilities. I’ve experienced that my whole life and it’s traumatizing and isolating.’

Jameela wrote: ‘Last week triggered me to a point of near death. I have a fragile past with suicide. If you live in pain and have to survive a lot, just to still be here, it’s *agonizing* to have people tell you that you made it up.’

Concluding her statement, Jameela added: ‘I would have prefered a happier, pain free, life with more fun and experiences rather than just struggling through month to month. What happened to me was incredibly cruel and scary and it triggered a lot of people who live in the same situation as me. Our lives are hard enough without gaslighting and abuse and I’m glad at least we know we have each other because all that s*** is out in the open.’
