Jackson Browne has tested positive for coronavirus.

The US singer, 71, revealed he has been diagnosed with Covid-19, but insisted that his symptoms so far have been ‘pretty mild’.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, Jackson, who’s famed for his hits The Pretender and Somebody’s Baby, said he was tested for the virus after experiencing a cough and a temperature – both symptoms of coronavirus.

‘My symptoms are really pretty mild,’ he insisted. ‘I don’t require any kind of medication and certainly not hospitalisation or anything like that.’

The rocker is now recovering at home in California, where he has been self-isolating for 10 days now.

Jackson urged fans to take precautions and stay indoors, like advised, as coronavirus can very easily be passed on.

He said: ‘I quarantined immediately upon feeling sick. It was before the mandatory quarantine orders were issued, because you don’t know if you had it or not.

‘I’m in the middle of trying to call everyone I know to discuss with them how they are feeling and whether or not they have symptoms. You have to assume you have it.

‘You need to assume that you in some way could very easily pass it to someone else.’

Key points from today’s coronavirus press conference

The coronavirus pandemic has seen the UK, and many other countries across the globe, go into lockdown in an attempt to control the spread of Covid-19.

Schools have been closed until further notice, as have bars, restaurants, cafes, clubs and gyms. People are being told to stay at home and only head out for essentials or once a day to exercise.

Many celebrities have tested positive for coronavirus, as the number of confirmed cases and deaths continue to increase.

Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson, 63, were two of the first stars to confirm they have coronavirus and they are now both recovering in quarantine, while over in Australia.

Tom had been filming for a new Elvis Presley biopic and reps for the actor and his wife Rita say the couple are ‘feeling better every day’.

Others stars diagnosed with Covid-19 include Idris and Sabrina Elba, Fiona Phillips, Dancing On Ice star Linda Lusardi, who has been hospitalised with the virus, and US actor Greg Rikaart recently confirmed he has also come down with the flu-like infection.

Celebrities are now self isolating as a precautionary measure, including Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande and Arnold Schwarzenegger and as everyone is advised to stay indoors, some musicians have been live-streaming gigs for fans over social media.

Fitness guru Joe Wicks has taken it upon himself to keep kids exercising while they’re off school and launched PE lessons with Joe live on his YouTube channel.

The first session had over 800,000 households join in and Joe is now vowing to host classes every day until schools re-open.
