ITV Coronation Street's Daisy Midgeley devastated by betrayal as a familiar face returns

Coronation Street‘s Daisy Midgeley (played by Charlotte Jordan) is humiliated next week when Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) goes behind her back and publishes the story of her acid attack in Chit Chat magazine. Spoilers released by ITV for the soap indicate that early in the week she is hopeful that she and ex-fiancee Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) might get back together.

She babysits his toddler son Bertie for a few hours and confides in Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger) that there’s still a spark between them. However, her hopes are dashed when she suffers a huge betrayal during Rita Tanner’s (Barbara Knox) birthday party in the Rover’s Return.

With the shindig in full swing, Mary Taylor (Patti Clare) receives a message, which she manages to accidentally airdrop to everyone in the pub. To Daisy’s mortification, it is an article from Chit Chat with the headline “I had a Torrid Affair with my Acid Attack Hero”.

Her humiliation is compounded when she learns that Daniel was aware that Bethany had written the article and he failed to warn her. He apologises but gives him short shrift.

Determined that Bethany won’t get away with it Daisy makes a formal complaint to the editor of the magazine. This leads to the young journalist being fired.

Bethany confronts Daisy, accusing her of sabotaging her career as Daniel heads over, shocked to hear that Daisy has taken such extreme action.

However, he is not prepared for the bombshell that comes out as the row escalates.

Daniel reels as Daisy reveals Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) has been blackmailing her and Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott).

She further intimates that the troubled teen only asked Daniel to tutor her so she could increase the pressure on the pair.

Daisy returns home licking her wounds only for Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) to reveal she has a visitor.

Daisy’s gobsmacked to see Ryan who has returned to the cobbles from Glasgow after reading the article.

With Daniel smarting from her revelation and Ryan back on the scene will Daisy find herself drawn back into his arms again?

Coronation Street is on ITV Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm.
