Iron Man death deleted scene NEW images HORRIFY fans – Are you strong enough to look?

It was hard enough to watch in the version they showed us. Nobody wanted Tony Stark to die and he was clearly in great pain. Using the Infinity Gauntlet had a devastating effect. But it could have looked a lot, lot worse. The filmmakers revealed their original plan was to show Tony’s face literally melting. And now, the first images have emerged. Be warned, it is not easy to see…

Robert Downey Jr’s performance is extraordinary in the final scene and it is probably for the best that anything like the following images never made it to the big screen.

Weta digital VFX supervisor Matt Aitken described one of the original plans for the scene.

He said: “We gave the filmmakers a full range [of looks] to choose from and one of those was where the energy from the stones had acted right up into his face and popped one of his eyeballs out and it was hanging out on his cheek.”

“You knew somewhere in the math that Tony himself, even though he’s got this suit and it’s going to fight for him, ultimately what’s going to result would be something he couldn’t recover from.”

The first Bosslogic image shows the eyeball popped out. The second, possibly even more gruesome, shows Tony’s face has started to melt and collapse.

It is safe to say nobody wanted to see that on a giant screen.

Not only is it extremely disturbing, it is not the way anyone wants to remember Tony Stark.

ROBERT DOWNEY JR reignited fan hopes he might return in the role in a recent interview.

He told Extra TV : “Anything could happen. As far as I’m concerned, I hung up my guns and I’m good to let it go.

“I also think that Marvel is on this journey now, they’re trying a bunch of other stuff and you know, I’m excited for them to see how all that goes. It’s hard to project but we got a lot of other stuff we want to do.”

It sounds like he is saying Iron Man and even possibly Tony Stark could one day return – but it won’t be Downey Jr playing him on the screen…
