Michael B Jordan has won himself some serious boyfriend brownie points after pulling off the most epic surprise for his first Valentine’s Day with Lori Havey.
The actor, 34, was first romantically linked to girlfriend Lori – who is the daughter of presenter Steve Harvey – at the end of the last year, with the pair making their relationship official on Instagram in January.
Sunday marked their first Valentine’s Day together and proving he’s a romantic at heart, Michael decided to pull out all the stops and rent out an entire aquarium.
We’re not kidding.
The Just Mercy star snapped up the aquarium for just himself and his girl, as they had a private tour around to see the turtles, before enjoying a private dinner for two under the water.
Lori was blown away by her boyfriend’s efforts and made sure to post them all over her Instagram story to take fans along on the romantic ride with her.
‘My baby rented one the aquarium so we could do a private tour and see the turtles and then we walked into this,’ Lori wrote, as she shared a video of their cute dinner setting, complete with flowers covering the table and a personalised menu.
Lori even had her own toy turtle waiting for her and the surprises just kept on coming, as Michael – who was crowned Sexiest Man Alive in 2020 – later whisked her off to a hotel suite which was decked out in flower petals, candles and huge bouquets.
We’re talking white roses, red roses, pink roses, a roaring fire, panoramic views, a bubble bath ready and waiting and a huge bed covered in rose petals.
If that wasn’t enough, Michael had also bought Lori stocks in fashion house Hermes as a Valentine’s Day gift. Chuffed with the purchase, she told fans it was the ‘best gift ever’.
Michael and Lori were first spotted jetting off to Salt Lake City together for New Year and were later seen sharing similar snaps of them snowboarding.
That was all it took for the dating rumours to start circulating, with Lori confirming she and Michael were officially an item just weeks later by sharing their first snaps as a couple to social media alongside a love heart emoji.
In the lead-up to their first Valentines, Lori was seen wishing her man happy birthday on February 9 in a loved-up post, where she declared her love for Michael.
Alongside cute pictures of the pair all cuddled up, she wrote: ‘Happyyy Birthdayyy Nugget 🎂 I love you baby…hope today has been at least half as special as you are.’
Black Panther star Michael replied: ‘Thank you baby 😍I love you too.’
Nugget is Lori’s nickname for Michael, while it’s been revealed he cutely calls her ‘turtle’ – hence the cute aquarium date.
Fans will no doubt love the rare insight into the pair’s relationship, with sources recently revealing why they had chosen to keep their romance under wraps.
‘It seems they have wanted to get to know each other in private. They have been careful about being photographed together. In the past she quickly posted social media pictures with guys that she was dating. With Michael she has tried a different approach,’ an insider told People.
‘[They] spent all the major holidays together in November and December. Lori seems very happy.’
Michael is known for keeping his personal life private, but did recently reveal what he was looking for in a relationship, as he told People he wanted a woman with a ‘sense of humour [and] true understanding because [an actor’s] life is not conducive to a relationship.
Lori knows all too well what it’s like to have relationships in the public eye, as she’s previously dated Future, Diddy and Trey Songz and was formerly engaged to footballer Memphis Depay.
