Emily Atack was left with her head in her hands on Wednesday when she was embarrassed by her mother’s sex talk.

The I’m A Celebrity runner up was on Loose Women to talk about her upcoming role in Urban Myths as Debbie Harry when she was joined by her Spitting Image actress mum Kate Robbins.

From the get go Emily was nervous what embarrassing stories would come out live on air and haunt her forever, when talk between the two soon turned to how close they were.

Needless to say it didn’t take long before the talk took a turn for the worst and descended into territory 29-year-old Emily wasn’t all that keen – or prepared – for.

‘We do act like best friends,’ Emily said on the panel, as Kate chimed in: ‘We do get drunk together.’

Feeling a little shocked by the comment, Emily said: ‘Yeah, cheers mum,’ before she added: ‘I don’t sit there and say my mum is my best friend because that doesn’t cover it.’

Getting serious for a moment, Kate said her job was to ‘nurture’ her kids and ‘not necessarily be their best mate.’

However there was more.

‘I’ve got filthy stories I would tell my girl mates I wouldn’t tell her,’ she continued, as Emily started to pull a face of extreme discomfort. ‘She would go “oh mum you won’t know about sex”.

And Emily’s immediate reaction was (Picture: ITV)

‘It’s alright for her to talk about sex. Well I’m not having any sex so there you go.’

As the audience and loose women descended into fits of laughter, Emily was shocked as she screamed: ‘Mum!’

Perhaps wanting the desk to swallow her whole, she put her head on her hands, as Kate embarrassed her.

‘I like being single,’ Kate continued.

Luckily the story had a nice little ending as Emily spoke about her parents Kate and Keith, who aren’t together anymore.

‘You don’t have to be together to give an example of how a relationship can work,’ she said. ‘I’m very proud of you both.’

Loose Women returns 12.30pm on ITV.
